Project Funway is our annual fashion design competition and runway show where UNL students and local designers compete get the Best of Show judge's award. Designers use cast off or thrift clothing and materials to create unique, one of a kind designs. These designs are then showcased during the Project Funway runway show.
In addition to the runway show, the event includes a short program, live and silent auction and light hors d’oeuvres. All proceeds benefit Fresh Start, a non-profit goal-oriented housing program for women experiencing homelessness, offering skill development and supportive services. The 2025 event was a great success! More than 300 attended the event, which helped raise over $75K for our services.
Please note that seating will be available for all but places at tables are not guaranteed.
The 2025 event was held Friday November 7 at The Marriott Cornhusker Hotel, in the grand ballroom.
For event updates, follow the Fresh Start Lincoln Facebook page.
This year we have added a special raffle package! Enhance your Project Funway experience with a hotel room at the Cornhusker Marriott, plus a gift card to Miller Time Pub and two VIP Project Funway Tickets! Estimated value is $420, and raffle tickets are just $10 each. The more you buy, the less each ticket is and the greater your chances.
Please note that per gaming statutes, tickets cannot be purchased with credit cards. You may use debit cards, ACH, cash, check or Venmo. Physical tickets will be mailed after purchase. Please contact LaCresha at lacreshab@freshstarthome.org or 402-475-7777 with any questions.
