Development Specialist: Part Time

Fresh Start is seeking a motivated person to join our team for 15- 20 hours per week. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys organization, community engagement, and supporting meaningful projects. Creativity a plus. Key responsibilities including marketing and print communications, social media and website management, coordinating volunteers, community outreach, and assisting the Development Director with other tasks related to donor development and event planning.  

This is a part - time position for 15-20 hours per week.  Flexible schedule that is mostly Monday- Friday, with some weekends or evenings as needed. 

Computer skills with MS suite (i.e. excel, word) needed. HS diploma or GED required. Additional training or education a plus but not required. One year experience in marketing or development preferred. Fresh Start values lived experience and that may be substituted for education or job experience. We especially encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds and those who have been historically underrepresented. Wage is dependent on education and experience.

Program Support Worker: Overnights
Part time or full time position available. 

This position supports the mission by providing assistance to residents during the night and ensures the safety and security of the home. It also includes tasks that aid case management, general facility operations, clerical, and general office tasks. This position collaborates with and is supervised by the Associate Executive Director. This is an overnight, awake shift that includes weekends. Work hours are 9:45pm-7:45am.

 

The ideal candidate is someone who is a people person and who works well independently to complete tasks. Wage is dependent on education and experience. Computer skills with MS suite (i.e. excel, word) needed. HS diploma or GED required. Additional training or education a plus but not required. One year experience in social services preferred. We especially encourage applications from individuals from diverse backgrounds and those who have been historically underrepresented. Part time or full time options available. Part time is 20 -30 hours per weekl; full time is 40 hours per week. Position open until filled; applicants are encouraged to apply by April 21, 2026. Volunteer Opportunities

We often have volunteer opportunities, including office assistance, one day projects, The Daisy, or a leadership committee. To learn more about volunteer opportunities, please contact lacreshab@freshstarthome.org.

The Daisy currently seeks individuals or groups to assist with sorting on a regular basis on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays. This could be during the afternoon or evening hours. There are also opportunities to work in the shop. 

 

Internships
Internships can help you develop your experience in non-profits by learning the ropes from more experienced professionals. At the end of your internship, you’ll have relevant experience to help you decide if a career in the non-profit industry is the right choice for you. At a smaller non-profit like Fresh Start, you’ll have an opportunity to see your projects go from start to finish. These are unpaid positions.
