Residential FAQ

Q. Are there program fees to live at Fresh Start?

A. If you do not have any kind of income you will not have to pay program fees. When you get a source of income such as a job or start receiving benefits (unemployment, SSI, SSDI, SNAP, etc) you will be required to pay fees. Fresh Start has one type of program fees: the sliding scale fees. The sliding scale is 33% of the resident’s income towards program fees. The fee is based on the NET pay. This fee does not exceed $250 per month. There is also a self-sufficiency fund; it is a required means for saving money for departure from Fresh Start. It is 10% of your net income and it is deducted from your net wages before program fees are calculated. If you wish to add additional money, it can be added at any time.
